Next year, I'll spend more then 5 minutes preparing my jokes. Frankly, I failed hard. Next year though, Next year...

Were you one of the contestants? If so, which comic were you?

Regardless of which comedian you are I don't think anybody failed... I know it sounds cheesy but I think everyone who went up gave it there all.  Not all the comedians got the same reactions from the audience but all the comics stayed composed and just kept going, that was really awesome.

Just do some more preparation, practice and it'll work out.  Like Fazio said... even he bombed big time in LCS 2008.

I was Ethan, the fat guy with white hair.

I enjoyed everyone who tried out (didn't make it to the finals Cry)

Ethan, did you try out in 2008 also?

I think I remember you from then.

I remember you from '08!

I always wanted to talk to you. Mainly to say this; you have the potential for some reeeeeeally good material.

I remember in 2008, it took you the entire 3 minutes, and about a thousand heavy breaths to get to the punchline of the one joke I remember you having, but once you got to it, I actually applauded you. I dont remember what the joke was, other than it was actually good.

I hope you get over your stagefright, because I'd love to see what you can write.

My audition in 2008 was just me being nervous as all crap!  I felt bad because I wasn't telling any jokes.  I was just acting like I was on drugs.  But as soon as I tried to tell jokes I bombed huge.  It didn't help that I was also playing guitar, and I wasn't that good back then Sad .  The judges DESTROYED me that year lol.

And Ethan, I liked your audition.  You had a strong personality.  I guess just work on the jokes next year.

The best advice I can give is this (and this is for everyone): GO AND DO OPEN MICS!  Look at some places online and just test out material.  Granted, you can't do anime jokes there, but at least you'll practice stage time and delivery.  Those are the hardest parts.  Once you have those down, then your whole act will improve.

chucklemonkey.com is a good website to check out.  I wouldn't try to do the Laugh Factory or Hollywood Improv for your first time.  Try small clubs and bars first.  Just know you'll probably bomb your first time.  Or worse, you'll have a great first set then fail the next five.  That's what happened to me Sad

What's up y'all, this is Kris.  For those of you who don't know I was the black guy with the afro who went last.

I just want to say how much fun it was doing LCS with all of you again this year.  I really felt that last year set the standard and that this year we raised it.  The competition was FIERCE and that's what made it so enjoyable.  It was really good to see a lot of familiar faces and new guys too.

Fazio congrats on your victory!  Your bit at the end took me completely by surprise, and I just sat thinking to myself "How the hell can I top that?!?!?".  Freaking hilarious!

Soap, you just keep getting better and better.  I'm not sure if LCS 08 was your first time competing, but you've come a LONG way.  I'm glad that you've stuck to your unique style AND managed to get the crowd on your side as well.  Nice work.

Jacob, I'm SO sorry I can't remember what the hell we talked about last year!  I will say that it will be very difficult to forget you now after your performance.  Your set had me in stitches.  You played the perfect "angry whit guy".

Mathew, you were great.  Your material is really good, the only thing I would say is just take your time with your jokes.  It was difficult to understand you at times (I have the same problem), but still really good job.

Why is there so much hating on Brittany?  I do agree that her material was one-dimensional, but she had guts for getting up there.

What was the balloon girl's name?  I really like her Halo joke.

You say that, as if it's a bad thing.

Hey folks I actually found a few videos of the audition night. The whole wasn't filmed but the person did a good job getting the standout performances.

Tom Franck here.  It was a great pleasure to watch all the comedians at AX's Last Comic Standing and an even greater joy to do a guest set.

I put on "Comics and Comics" on the first Friday of every month at Meltdown Comics in Hollywood.  We stream the show live on stickam and this past Friday saw over 54,000 viewers check us out throughout the broadcast.

I have a "Crisis on Infinite Comics and Comics" show where I check out people who I haven't seen before.  I'm putting on another one on September 10th.  If you want to perform a five minute set there, respond on this thread as I do still have some spots available.

I was surprised to learn how inexperienced many of the finalists were at LCS.  Not only was there strong material in the show but some solid delivery as well.

Soap, here.

I want to do this. I want to do this hard, and fast, and then I want to do it again.

I suppose it would be prudent to request details of the event, before committing to it, though. Assuming there were any more than already given.

Soap,

show starts at 7:30 on Friday Sept. 10th.  7522 Sunset Blvd.  Free admission, so tell your friends.  We usually have a food truck parked outside.  I'll put your name on the lineup.
